I got a window saying softawere updates are available. I did the software update. Then Kaboom, takes hours to boot.
Booted single user, did some tricks, fsck/mount rw, did disk utils repair permission, still hours to boot. Booted safe mode, hours to get the login, yet networking was working ok then. Re-installed (keep user account) all run like a champ, do the software update (pulled about 300Mb) then Kaboom again, re-installed again, now I don't install update and ask question here.
HW is sane, mac os X out of the box run, only after update it hangs, booting the mac mini with win XP (I konw, I know) run like a champ too.
So what's the story with the current update, I feared some funnis with NetInfo, but can tell for sure, all is disabled by default, may be lookupd ?
The specific about htis mac mini is that it is a pure mac os x install, then install the Palm Treo driver (that reboot) does this software trustable? it worked for about a year, but may be the lastupdate is not compatible with Pal treo?
Thanx for any help, spend alread 10 hours (in 2 sesion of 5 hours each)
I now have a work around run old original install and never do an update, but this is radical.
